It’s the second day of the Appledore Book Festival and I’m about to head into the reading session with the children, when I get a call to say that my dad is not well. He is having a stroke. We spend the day in North Devon Hospital and as things unfold it is clear he will be ok and that it will be alright to come home. I bring mum back to ours and as evening approaches I head out to the front of the house and capture the setting sun. Dad doesn't want to be the reason this project fails. And standing here catching the light and the hope it seems to demonstrate it is a good thing to do!
