Sometimes you have to see through fences and gates to see the view you want to paint.  That was very true of today’s picture.  I parked in a lay-by just outside Abbotsham and from this gateway could see all the way to Hartland point.  I really wanted to do this view because I wanted the rolling hills of North Devon freshly harvested fields and the distance.
