Tonight I wanted to try and paint the moon, as when it rose last night it turned the sky red. It took a while for it to rise which was quite hard as I watched daylight disappear and night begin.  Without a good moon I would have had no painting today and 365 days of daily en plein air painting would have come to an end! It did rise and it was very interesting to paint in such different light, to try and capture the blue of the night sky and the red light around the moon. Of course as with a sunset what you see with your eye is so different to what the camera can “see” and record.
