Porter's Hut - 17/07/2022

It was as hot as Portugal in the UK and I was definitely staying out of the sun in the shadow of the house. This view is perhaps the one I always think of when I think of Montacute. We came here often when the children were young and I could almost hear the echo of their voices running around the garden in delight. 

My painting headed back into being more literal as there was architecture to draw here and wall posts to count. I was trying to keep the looseness in the trees though and not over paint any of the detail.
